What are you rooted in?
What are you rooted in?
Psalm 1 paints a picture I keep returning to: a tree planted by a steady stream. It isn't rushing. It isn't forcing fruit. It simply stays connected to what nourishes it, and when its season comes, it bears fruit. Even in the heat, its leaves don't wither.

That's what mindful self-care looks like to me. Not a spa day once in a while, but staying close to your water source every single day.
A few gentle questions to sit with:
What voices am I letting into my mind? The psalm describes a slow drift from walking, to standing, to sitting with influences that drain us. Notice what you absorb.
What do I return to in my quiet moments? Whatever fills your idle minutes is shaping you. Choose something that restores you.
Am I honoring my season? Not every season is a harvest. Rest, stillness, and quiet growth are part of a fruitful life, not a failure of one.
What's chaff in my life right now? Busyness, comparison, and approval seeking feel heavy but carry no real weight. You're allowed to let them blow away.
Today, find your stream. A few slow breaths. A walk outside. A moment of prayer or stillness. Roots grow in the quiet.
"He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither." Psalm 1:3
